Analysis of the Recent GE12 Results

heh heh heh... I still can't get that grin outta my face...

OK! On to the analysis.. On why the BN government has garnered such a weak support from the people? Well, in my own opinion, it's their own arrogance that brought about their own doom. If they hadn't reacted so strongly on the Bersih rally and the Hindraf rally in November, they wouldn't have lost so much. If they hadn't imprisoned the 5 Hindraf leaders. If they hadn't blocked all media coverage on Malaysia's problems. If they hadn't block all media access to the Opposition parties. If Samy macha Vellu hadn't turned his hairy back on the Indian community, everything would have been very different. All these factors turned out to be very advantageous to the Opposition, especially Datuk Seri Anwar as he managed to rouse the rakyat's emotions and feelings to turn on BN. But at the end of the day, had everyone really voted emotionally?

Let me go deeper. Corruption, Khairy, and inflation. From recent months, we have cases like temples and churches being demolished like nobody's business, Atlantunya C4'd by the police, a prominent lawyer being caught on tape brokering judges' appointments, a sex scandal involving the former Health Minister, the Sharlinie kidnapping, and prices of household goods skyrocketing. What does it say about our government? Poor performance from the police, a corrupted judiciary system, and a corrupted, family-owned government *ahem* Khairy *ahem*. And what was the reply given by the government? 'Be happy with what you are getting'. 'Prices of petrol, flour, sugar, etc. are still the lowest in SEA'. huh? I thought the government should be addressing the problem instead of telling the public off. So does this prove that we are intelligent, proactive voters instead of the stupid rakyat that they perceive us to be?

As happy as I am with the results of the GE12, I hope the the newly captured states are governed effeciently and effectively by the ruling state governments. I hope that they should now be more united as ever as they have now states to rule over and develop. And I repeat, in Penang, Kedah, Perak, Kelantan, KL and Selangor, DAP, PKR and PAS should now be referred to as the ruling coalition state governments and the BN as the Opposition. hahaha... Feels good, doesn't it? Reformasi!

Best Regards,
